Hamdi AKIN - Chairman of the Board of Directors

Born in 1954 in Istanbul, Hamdi AKIN is a graduate of Gazi University, Department of Mechanical Engineering. AKIN began his professional career in 1975 when he founded AKINISI AŞ, a furnace manufacturer.

Hamdi AKIN also carried his business dynamism and hard work into volunteer efforts in professional associations, foundations and chambers of commerce. AKIN is currently an active member of the International Foreign Economic Relations Board, the Economic Development Foundation, the Association of Turkish Contractors, the Ankara Chamber of Commerce and the Ankara Chamber of Industry.

Hamdi AKIN has also served as a member of the Advisory Board of Contemporary Turkish Studies, a chair established at the London School of Economics with the contribution of Akfen Holding, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Employers Association, Vice President of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club in 2001 and President of the Ankara Region Representative Council of the Turkish Metal Industrialists’ Union, a member of the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD) and a member of the Board of Directors and the President of the Turkish Young Businessmen’s Association.

In 1999, Hamdi AKIN, together with his wife Şafak, established the Human Resources Foundation of Turkey (TİKAV) with the objective of promoting competent professionals in Turkey. He serves as the founding member and Honorary Chairman of the Foundation.

İrfan ERCIYAS - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors

Born in 1954, İrfan ERCIYAS graduated from Gazi University, Department of Economics and Finance in 1977. He began his professional career at Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası (Vakıfbank) as an Auditor and Branch Manager. He was appointed Assistant General Manager in 1996 and General Manager in 2002. ERCIYAS joined Akfen Holding in 2003 as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mustafa KETEN - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors

Born in Konya in 1946, Mustafa KETEN graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences, Department of Economic Administration in 1968. KETEN began his professional career in 1970 as an Assistant Specialist in the State Planning Organization. In 1978, he received an MA in Development Administration from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands. From 1979 to 1999, he worked in the State Planning Organization as President of Priority Development Regions, then as Undersecretary of Agriculture, Forestry and Village Affairs, Advisor to the Prime Minister, President of the Special Environmental Protection Board, President of Prime Ministerial Foundations and President of Foundations Board. During his service in the public sector, KETEN also served on the Boards of Directors of Petkim (Petrochemicals) and Tamek Gıda (Foods) and as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Güneş Sigorta (Insurance) and at Vakıfbank. He also has been a faculty member at various educational institutions. KETEN joined Akfen Holding in 1999 as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Eurasian Business Council and the Turkish-Georgian Business Council, as well as the President of the Turkish-Moldavian Business Council.

Selim AKIN - Board of Directors Member

Born in Ankara on 23.06.1983, Selim AKIN graduated from Surrey University, England Department of Business Administration. Selim AKIN currently serves as board member of Akfen Holding and Akfen Holding subsidiaries. He was the president of Surrey University Turkish Association in years 2005 and 2006. He is currently honoury member of Young Businessmen Association of Turkey (TUGIAD) and Turkish Anatolia Employees and Workers Association (Türkiye Anadolu Çalışanları ve Emekçiler Derneği).

Süha GÜÇSAV - Board of Directors Member and Akfen Holding CEO

Born in 1968, Süha Güçsav graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Economics in 1992, he later received his MA from Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration. Beginning his professional career in1992 at Alexander & Alexander Insurance Brokerage Co., Güçsav joined the Akfen Family in 1994 where he served as Finance Group President and the CEO , respectively. He has been Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akfen Holding since 2003. In addition, Güçsav also serves on the Board of various subsidiaries. He’s the Chairman of the Board of Directors at AKFEN REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) and the CEO of IBS Insurance Brokerage Services.
