Award Has Been Given To Akfen Renewable Energy For Its ‘Rural Area Education Seminars’ Targeted At Women Living In Rural Areas

Akfen Renewable Energy was honored with the “Our Energy, Our Future” award at the 6th Turkey Energy and Natural Resources Summit for its “Rural Area Education Seminars” program, which provides various training sessions for women living in the regions where its plants are located. The award was presented to Mustafa Kemal Güngör, the General Manager of Akfen Renewable Energy, by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar.

 Through the “Rural Area Education Seminars” program conducted in collaboration with the Turkey Human Resources Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV), Akfen Renewable Energy aims to empower women to be a significant part of societal transformation by providing face-to-face training sessions on health, hygiene, child development, and digital literacy.

This prestigious award once again acknowledges Akfen Renewable Energy’s contributions to empowering women and societal development.

Organized under the coordination of the Turkey Human Resources Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV), founded by Akfen Holding, the program aims to facilitate social transformation by providing face-to-face training sessions on health, hygiene, child development, and digital literacy for women.

IMPLEMENTED IN 27 DIFFERENT RURAL AREAS IN 18 CITIES OF TURKEY

 Akfen Renewable Energy’s investments in power plants have reached women living in 27 different rural areas across 18 cities in Turkey. Projects such as “We Became Schooled at Home” in 2017, “Health Comes First” in 2018, “Hygiene is Health” in 2019, and “Savings in Our Home, Future in Our Hands” have been implemented, providing face-to-face training on various topics to a total of 6,800 women through four different social responsibility projects. The projects indirectly reached more than 20,000 individuals. As of 2024, the “Our Digital Footprint” project has been initiated.

With the “Our Digital Footprint” project, women and families living in rural areas will be educated on the correct and safe use of digital platforms. The project aims to contribute to the prevention of legal, social, physiological, and psychological issues, thereby creating social awareness.
