Akfen Construction has delivered three emergency hospitals, designed by the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Health, to the Ministry after completing their construction in less than a year. The hospitals are located in Altınözü, Payas, and Erzin districts of Hatay, which suffered extensive damage in the devastating earthquakes of February 6, 2023.

Akfen Construction has delivered three emergency hospitals, designed by the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Health, to the Ministry after completing their construction in less than a year. The hospitals are located in Altınözü, Payas, and Erzin districts of Hatay, which suffered extensive damage in the devastating earthquakes of February 6, 2023.

Built to address the region’s urgent healthcare needs in the aftermath of the disaster, these hospitals have a total capacity of 150 beds. Equipped with modern medical technologies, the facilities will enhance rapid intervention and treatment processes, contributing to the sustainability of healthcare infrastructure in Hatay.

Supporting Hatay’s Healthcare Infrastructure

 Each hospital, with a capacity of 50 beds, was specifically designed to meet the region’s immediate healthcare service needs following the earthquakes. These emergency hospitals represent a critical step in the recovery process after a major disaster, addressing the health requirements of the local population.

The hospitals were constructed to strengthen the region’s healthcare infrastructure quickly. They aim to shorten the time needed to access essential healthcare services, especially in earthquake-affected areas. By increasing capacity for emergency response and treatment, these facilities will provide safe and sustainable healthcare services to the people of Hatay.

In the long term, these hospitals will also contribute to the sustainability of Hatay’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that the region is better prepared for future health needs.
