Loft Art, known for its mission to provide space and support for independent artists, is delighted to announce its new group exhibition, “Life Sings Its Song.” The exhibition focuses on the traces people leave in our lives, their connection to emotions, and how they create a sense of wholeness through imperfections. Featuring 15 independent artists — Ahmet Yiğider, Berk Kakeci, Bertan Ekici, Emre Tura, Ergül Karagözoğlu, Ezgi Kılıç, Fatih Altan, Halil Vurucuoğlu, Hüseyin Rüstemoğlu, İlyas Arapoğlu, Kaan Fıçıcı, Lale Yılmaz, Nihan Çakır, Taylan Öngünç, and Zuhal Baysar — the exhibition will be open at Loft Art from January 22 to March 22, 2025.
“Do you know how to tell if an emerald is real?” Karl asked.

“Yes, exactly. That’s what the jeweler said. Unlike other precious stones, the more scratches, cracks, and imperfections an emerald has, the more beautiful it becomes. A real emerald is beautiful with all its flaws. This is called a perfecting flaw. An emerald that meets the definition of perfection must be fake.”

At its core, human existence is a story of leaving and carrying traces. Every encounter draws an invisible map on the human soul — a map that connects us to the past, present, and future. These traces accumulate beyond our physical presence, shaping who we are deep within.

Every story leaves a trace; every trace evokes an emotion. The human soul transforms, shapes, and completes itself through these traces and feelings.
This exhibition is a journey into those transparent layers that give meaning to human existence through imperfections. Every crack, every scratch, every flaw forms the texture of a story that makes us unique. Just as beauty is hidden in the flaws of an emerald, it is found where we reflect our light through our imperfections.

Loft Art was established to create a space where independent artists can showcase their works. Aiming to promote equality of opportunity in the art market, Loft Art connects independent artists, who produce in various mediums, with a wider audience. Inspired by the corporate values of Akfen Holding, Loft Art supports the production of independent artists and aims to increase their visibility in the art world.
The proceeds from works sold at Loft Art exhibitions are directed toward the Turkish Human Resources Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV), established by Akfen Holding to implement national and international social responsibility projects focused on women and children. Dilara Akın, a member of the TİKAV Board of Directors, oversees Loft Art, with Ayşe Jaber serving as the Art Director.
