Akfen Volunteers, the volunteer employee group of Akfen Holding, will run and raise donations for the “Leaders of the Future” Project of the Turkey Human Resources, Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV) at the 47th Istanbul Marathon, which will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, organized by Türkiye İş Bankası.
Through this meaningful participation, Akfen Volunteers will support TİKAV’s “Leaders of the Future” campaign, which aims to provide funding for educational programs, technological support, cultural and artistic activities both in Türkiye and abroad, and financial scholarships for 64 scholarship students living in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia who face limited access to educational and personal development opportunities.
This donation campaign, bringing together Akfen Volunteers and TİKAV, aims to raise awareness and transform every step taken during the marathon into an opportunity for equal access to education. By creating opportunities especially for university students in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia, the campaign seeks to empower young people to look to the future with hope and confidence—turning each step into a meaningful investment in their lives.
As part of this year’s campaign, Akfen Volunteers will run to support 64 university students by enabling their participation in educational programs, meeting their technological needs, broadening their horizons through cultural and artistic activities, offering domestic and international experience opportunities, and providing financial scholarships. Through this initiative, Akfen Volunteers aim to contribute to unlocking young people’s potential while drawing attention to the importance of social responsibility and educational equality.
At this year’s 47th Istanbul Marathon, 100 Akfen employees will run together to promote equal opportunities for young people, support their confidence in the future, and contribute to the widespread adoption of social responsibility across society. Every step taken will symbolize hope and support for the education of Türkiye’s future generations.
Last year, Akfen Volunteers also took part in the 46th Istanbul Marathon, making a significant social impact by raising TRY 4,328,075 in donations for TİKAV’s “Equality in Education” campaign under the Individual Development Program. Thanks to these donations, 40 students from Fırat University received scholarships for one year and gained access to certified training programs, strengthening both their academic and personal development. This achievement clearly demonstrates the tangible and sustainable impact Akfen Volunteers continue to have on the lives of young people.
