Established as a platform to showcase the works of independent artists, Loft Art hosted the opening of Güneş Çağlarcan’s solo exhibition titled “Requiem For Shadows.”
The exhibition will continue to welcome art lovers at Loft Art between December 12 and December 28, 2025.
Founded with the mission of creating space for independent artists, Loft Art hosted the opening of Güneş Çağlarcan’s solo exhibition “Requiem For Shadows.” During the opening, a live piano performance by the artist accompanied the artworks, deepening the emotional atmosphere of the exhibition. Composed entirely of Çağlarcan’s own pieces, the performance complemented the visual narrative with sound, offering visitors a multisensory and holistic experience. Shaped by piano accompaniment, the opening carried the melancholic and introspective world of Requiem For Shadows into the space, powerfully revealing the exhibition’s conceptual framework.
Requiem For Shadows is conceived as both a requiem of farewell and a quiet ritual of acceptance. The exhibition presents a visual echo of suppressed emotions, avoided truths, and inner darknesses that transform over time. In this world, shadows are not signs of absence, but inevitable witnesses of existence.
By reinforcing the impact of the artworks with his own compositions, the artist offers the viewer a multisensory experience. The visual layers merge with sound; the emotional resonance of looking at a painting deepens through music. Thus, the viewer not only sees, but also feels.
In this collection, the shadow symbolizes not only darkness, but also memory, loss, the unforgettable, and the fractures within the human self. Each work stands like a moment suspended between past and present. Walking the fine line between forgetting and remembering, Requiem For Shadows may appear as an ending, yet—like every requiem—it conceals the subtle vibration of a new beginning. Güneş Çağlarcan’s solo exhibition “Requiem For Shadows” will be on view at Loft Art until December 28.
