Two Akfen Leaders Among Türkiye’s 50 Sustainability Leaders

Akfen Group Sustainability Leader – General Manager of Environment and Water Emre Sezgin, and Hülya Kırçuval, Chair of the Board of the Turkish Human Resources, Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV), were named among the “50 Sustainability Leaders” selected as part of Fast Company Türkiye’s “Türkiye’s 50 Sustainability Leaders” research.

Akfen Group Sustainability Leader – General Manager of Environment and Water Emre Sezgin and TİKAV Chair of the Board Hülya Kırçuval were honored by being included in Fast Company Türkiye’s “Sustainability Leaders 50” list. Selected among 50 leaders shaping a sustainable future, Kırçuval and Sezgin received their awards at the Sustainability Leaders 50 Summit, organized by Fast Company under the theme “For a Better World.”

In the research identifying leaders who create tangible impact in sustainability within their organizations and society, 50 names were selected from 135 candidates based on the impact of their projects, the results achieved, and their future-oriented strategies.

Playing a key role in implementing environmental sustainability policies under the umbrella of Akfen Holding, Akfen Group Sustainability Leader – General Manager of Environment and Water Emre Sezgin, and Hülya Kırçuval, Chair of the Board of TİKAV, who has led social responsibility projects reaching diverse groups from women living in rural areas to university students, were deemed worthy of this meaningful award for their contributions to Türkiye’s sustainable development journey.

AKFEN HOLDING’S SUSTAINABILITY APPROACH ACROSS ALL AREAS OF LIFE

Since its establishment in 1976, Akfen Holding has implemented numerous projects in Türkiye and abroad across various fields. In addition, according to the 2024 climate change category results published by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)—one of the world’s most prestigious environmental reporting platforms—Akfen Holding, Akfen Renewable Energy, Akfen İnşaat, and Akfen GYO each received a B score, the highest rating in their respective categories. Akfen Holding also achieved a B score in the Water Security category, marking significant progress in integrating sustainability and environmental issues into its business processes.
