The Hikmet Akın Secondary School in Düzce, which was previously donated to the Ministry of National Education by the Akfen Group, has been renovated within the scope of Akfen İnşaat’s sustainability initiatives and prepared for the 2025–2026 academic year. The school courtyard has been transformed into a modern, safe, and environmentally responsible space.
Located in Düzce and previously donated to the Ministry of National Education by the Akfen Group, Hikmet Akın Secondary School has been renewed as part of Akfen İnşaat’s sustainability and social responsibility efforts. With the completion of the renovation works, the school is now ready for the 2025–2026 academic year.
As part of the renovation carried out this year at the school—originally constructed and donated to the Ministry of National Education between 2004 and 2005—an asphalt surface with an average thickness of 8 cm was applied to the 2,350 m² courtyard. The courtyard, which previously had surface deterioration and irregularities, posed safety and health risks for students. With its renewed surface, the courtyard has been transformed into a safer area where students can spend time more securely during breaks and school activities. The new surface prevents water accumulation during rainy weather and eliminates dust and mud, enabling students to benefit from a healthier, more hygienic, and long-lasting ground both while playing and during daily movement.
This project carried out by Akfen İnşaat was implemented as part of the company’s sustainability and social responsibility vision. Akfen İnşaat’s investment in education not only provides environmentally responsible solutions tailored to students’ needs but also ensures that the school’s physical conditions are fully prepared for the upcoming academic year.
